HARRY FERGUSON COMMEMORATION CELEBRATIONS
16th August 2008

This annual event recognises one of Ireland's renowned inventors Mr Harry Ferguson.  The August Event will include the grand opening of the Memorial Garden and the annual Ferguson Tractor Display

The Harry Ferguson Celebration Committee will stage their annual Ferguson tractor display on the 16th August at the Ferguson Homestead at Growell (near Anahilt), and the birthplace of Harry Ferguson.

Harry Ferguson was responsible for many inventions and designs in the farming and engineering world.  One of his most famous inventions was the Grey TE 20 tractor and more importantly the 3 point linkage system which attached to the back of the tractor and allowed the farmer to complete many tasks around the farm with ease and accuracy.  Many of his inventions can be seen at this annual event along with up to 500 Ferguson tractors.  This event has something to offer for all the family.

Another annual event is the Ferguson Lecture evening held in the Hillsborough Village Centre on the 14th November 2008.  This evening offers speakers and video footage of the life and times of Harry Ferguson.
